FAQs

Everything you might be wondering

And if the answer isn't here, just ask — I love to chat floral ideas.

Do you deliver, set up and pack away the flowers?

Yes. I offer an end to end service where you can leave all the design, coordination of vendors, venue information, delivery, set up and pack down to me — and sit back and enjoy the lead up to your special day. Please check your proposal for fees.

Do you offer furniture hire like arbors, plinths and stages?

No, but I work with some amazing hire companies you can select these from:

Can I make changes to my booking?

Yes. I'll touch base 6–8 weeks out from your wedding to see if you'd like to make changes. If there's a new trend you've seen, or a new colour palette you love the look of, then we can totally redesign.

We just ask that the flower budget does not reduce by any more than 15% of the original proposal, so we can ensure we can still maintain other events around this day.

Why don't you use floral foam?

Floral foam is made of phenolic resins and is a single use product that breaks down into microplastics. This floral mechanic is a water source for the flowers and holds them in place.

We all know the harmful effects these microplastics have on the environment, so I use other mechanics to hold flowers in place and provide a water source — moss, chicken wire, vases and re-usable stem vessels. This is why my vases are hire only items: I've set them up so they are re-usable and I can significantly reduce my toxic waste for each event.

Do you provide candles?

I partner with Chameleon Sand Candles to provide beautiful white sand candles, perfect for elevating an event. This is a premium candle styling service offering non toxic, RSPO-certified, fully biodegradable and home-compostable candles to add twinkle to any event.

They offer a premium end to end candle styling service, plus non toxic taper candles and large candle towers for hire. If you'd like a quote, please enquire with Floral Haus to start the enquiry process for sand candle styling.

Can I repurpose my ceremony florals to the reception?

This is something we can certainly discuss and plan for. With careful planning and design we can generally make this happen.

Some things that make it tricky: high heat at outdoor ceremonies, the set up times available to us, and movement logistics (for example, moving a large arbor down stairs).

Do I need to provide my own vases?

Of course not. I have a hand picked selection of glass and ceramic vases to style your wedding. These are hire only items — however you are more than welcome to take the flowers out of them at the end of the night.

Can I take my event flowers home?

Yes, of course! My vases and vessels are hire only, however you are more than welcome to pull the flowers out and take them home to keep enjoying them.

Do you have a minimum spend?

Yes, my minimum spend is $4,000. I provide a premium, end to end floral design service using premium flowers and non toxic floral mechanics. To design a wedding using these principles starts from $4,000.

Can you guarantee specific flowers?

Unfortunately not. Flowers are seasonal, perishable items and their availability is influenced by weather, quarantine, wars, freight challenges, quality and pricing.

Rest assured, I'm an expert at creating your vibe with the flowers available to me, and I'll create something truly breathtaking especially for you with only the most premium of flowers available.

Can I DIY some of my own flowers?

To uphold a premium service, it is in my Terms and Conditions that Rose and Lily Floral Haus is the sole provider of flowers at your event. This ensures my work is not confused with others, and provides an intentional and fully cohesive look on your day — the level of service and finished look we're well known for.

Sit back and relax, and let us flower your day so you are blown away.

Where are you based?

I'm based in Perth and the surrounds, working from my home studio in Alfred Cove. I'm also available to flower your wedding in the South West.

Why are flowers so expensive?

The growing, production and travel costs associated with many flowers are significant, because it takes time and skill to grow them and package them in a way suitable for air freight or shipping. They go through multiple quarantine checks and are then distributed to wholesalers. Locally grown flowers are often cheaper but can have less availability — these will always be used first when available.

A florist's job requires designing the flower order, choosing styling vases, ordering, setting up transport and storage solutions for moving and setting up your wedding flowers on the day, as well as making the actual arrangements. Each stem is conditioned individually to ensure it has bloomed to look its best on the day, and each flower requires something different during that process — so you are investing in a high level of knowledge and experience.

Other materials such as ribbons, pins and bouquet boxes are required, as well as admin and studio overheads. For large jobs, freelancers are also employed, as these events often take four to six florists to create the overall look.

There are a lot of behind the scenes costs involved, many invisible to the client. You're not just paying for the wholesale cost of flowers — you're paying for the premium service involved in designing, planning and delivering your dream wedding flowers.
